Lighter Trigger/Pen Spring why?

Ok so I did several searches on lighter trigger, pen spring, etc. and I have read several posts saying puting no spring in makes the trigger pull lighter, and putting the pen spring in makes the trigger pull light. If this is the case where I can dis-assemble a pen something that tippmann does not make, why dont they just leave the spring out themselves? or pet a pen like spring in instead? Kinda doesnt make sense to me.

Also you can't just take out the spring completely.  You have to have something there to push the trigger back to the "ready" position.  Some remove the spring and replace them with two magnets with similar poles facing one another so they try to repel each other in order to reset the trigger.

Every 98 I've owned (like 4 of them) has had their trigger spring entirely removed. Never had a problem with it. The hammer catching the sear resets the trigger.

Though keep in mind, these are the old sear 98's. I don't know if the sear redesign changes this attribute.

They might.  I know in both my stacked tube blowbacks and my A-5 that having the spring out would cause problems.  Never knew that on the old 98s. I thought, for some reason, that I was still over on A5OG when I posted this...LOL...oh I must have needed more coffee.

Who knows? Maybe it's just how I pull the trigger? All I know, is I've never personally had trouble removing the trigger spring. The hammer pressing against the sear seems to reset the trigger from what I've been noticing.

I took out my trigger spring, but then I have an RT, so that is kind of cheating...
