happend last week but couldent get it off my camera. some kid in the highschool backed into my car with a 03 F-150.

probably wouldent have been so bad if he dident have the hitch in. did $800 in damage. all it did to his truck was scratch the hitch a little. 2" over and it would have hit the b-piller totaling it (to bad he dident have better aim).

My car has the same type of damage except I was at work
and when it happened so I have no clue who did it. I
walk to my car across the street and there was the huge
dent with paint chipped off. Sucks hard.

I laugh when people drive into the metal towing package junk on the back
of one of my Explorers. I walk out of school and the car is right on my
bumper. I laugh and drive away.

Atleast they stopped and took credit. My friend was backing out, along
with the person opposite him. His Escorts bumper was punctured and
scratched by the girl's Ranger. The girl just drove off, didn't even get out
to see.

Some idiot of a lady decided to randomly stop at a yield sign with no traffic, so I bumped her going 2 mph. My car just had paint scratched off... her's had a tiny dent... $1,100!

You got screwed over Linus. I've had worse repairs for like $600.

I got rear ended yesterday actually.  I stopped behind a line of cars waiting at an intersection (red light) and I looked in my rear view and saw a girl driving a pickup way too fast to stop (on ice especially) so I saw it coming.  Sure enough hits me and sends me into the car in front of me.  We all pulled over, and the car I was pushed into had a crack by his license plate, and her front bumper was cracked, but my car was perfectly fine.  His car was a bit beat up already, and hers was a company vehicle, so we didn't exchange info, and went on our way.  The company vehicle the girl was driving: Bumper to Bumper automotive parts....

I got an estimate for the damage done to my car when I slid on an ice covered road going about 5mph (if not less) and hit a guard rail.  $1300....$400 was just to replace the scratched headlight.

So I ebay'd that SOB and got the light for $30, the rest is for repainting the fender/hood (even though there was no damage to the hood?).

Automotive paint, and all the necessary accessories is expensive, as is body parts from the factory (most insurance companies now replace with factory parts becuase aftermarket parts are sometimes unsafe).

It sounds like a lot, but it's not like the body repair technician is getting rich off of that repair.

And yes, Ford, it is illegal in some areas to drive around with a hitch for no reason, in case you, hypothetically speaking, back your truck into the fender of some guy's Cavalier, so you don't do this:

A few nights ago I was following my friend through the city and I though he was gonna try to catch a yellow light so I sped up a little and he didn't. The roads were still pretty icey so of course I slid and hit him 5-10mph. Somehow when my saab's bumper hit his jeep in front of my there was zero damage.

That's exactly why I have towing hitches on my cars. Nothing says you should have better following distances like 2 inches of solid steel through the radiator.
