i want to get a new woodsball gun but which one is better the a-5 or the 98 custom. if i get an a-5 it would be with a response trigger and the 98 would problebly be with a e-grip....which one should i get.is there a big difference between the two?

my pesonal preference is the a5 with an egrip. the rt is not allowed at some tourneys and the egrip for the a5 is really a nice ad-on. another cool part is they just released the selector switch model for it so you could get that one or the older ones may be cheaper now. Both are good guns though. I started out with a 98 and it wa alot of fun to have, but i lked my a5 more. also the a5 has the feature of coming with the cyclone on it. its a great loader to have and mine has never broken. the only time it stopped working it was because i put something back in wrong.

Do you mean 98 custom or Custom Pro? If its is the basic 98 custom, without a doubt get the A-5. Though if its the pro your talking about it really comes down to feel whether you perfer holding a longer gun or a short sub machine like gun and whether or not shooting speed matters to you. I went with the Custom Pro because I don't care how fast my gun shoots and I love the feel of the longer custom. Also I perfer the standard feed neck rather than the cyclone feed system that the A-5 has because the standard seem to be a lot more reliable interms of paintjams because it was a lot more simple. |

I've got both, but I never use my 98... The A-5 is the one I always use. It just feels better, shoots better, and looks better. Plus one time when it was below freezing I had put the wrong oil in it and it was freezing up on me. I stripped it down and put it all back together in 10 minutes. Way faster than I could have done with my 98, I'd still be looking for that little clip that pops out of the front of the gun when you strip it down... |

personally i think the 98 custom is way better because it has more options with add-ons, and it also comes with a hair trigger and is great with an e-trigger. It is a good reliable working gun, and you can make it unique urself, where as with the a-5 there is hardly anything you can upgrade besides the barrel.so if you are getting a new gun and you want a good realiable working gun, get the TIPPMANN 98 CUSTOM

I just got my first gun, a 98 Custom with the standard mechanical trigger and its great. Its loud as hell, can fire fairly fast and is ultra-reliable. I also just got a tactical 20" barrel for it at christmas. I'd say go for the 98C |

Aren't e-grips not allowed for normal woodsball because its electronic? Ive got a 98 custom, with just about every mod (including cyclone feeder) possible, except a response trigger or e-grip (i use way too much paint as it is). Its a good gun, never broken on me, the only issues i had was the stock barrel is really awful, whichever you get, get a new barrel, i just got a great deal on a 2 piece all american, both parts for £35, havent tested it yet, but never heard a bad word about it. I would say go with the A-5 as you get the cyclone included and generally regarded as the better marker. |

A-5 E-grip, i have both and i prefer the a-5 so much more because of the cyclone feeder, plus because of the x7 the a-5 accessories have become much more affordable. the a-5 is without a doubt the superior gun.
