I've got an A5 marker with little upgrades, 16" JJ Ceramic barrel, folding stock, and a recently installed Tippmann Expansion Chamber. I had a half of a tank which i used a couple times just to take pot shots in my back yard and make sure the chamber was installed correctly, which i didnt notice a problem. i fired off the entire tank, and decided to fire off some rounds with another full tank i had since im going to go play tomorrow. i fired a good 100 shots at least before it started to sputter on me, as if it were out but i still had plenty of air. i manually recocked it with the handle and fired again and it sputtered again. once it started to ice up a little i decided it was time to leave it alone for a bit. 20 minutes or so later i tried again, and after about 30 or so perfect shots it started to sputter again. I'm wondering if it could be my tank or maybe something else im not seeing? i took out the bolt and all from the back and it looked just fine and lubricated. could it have anything to do with my velocity being too high? i was messin around with it and havent been able to chrono it since |

well i was shooting a lot so it started to get cold, but within normal levels of how cold it would normally be if i were playing. once it started to sputter it started to ice up pretty good, and then it sputtered every shot. like i said i gave it 20 minutes or so until the ice started to liquidate a good bit and tried again and i got around 30 or so just fine and it started to sputter again. seemed like it did it more while it was colder...but im more worried about why it started to begin with. like i said i could see it getting as cold as it was when it started during a normal game easily.
edit: actually i take that back...i had it in my harness shooting it from a rmote at first, so i cant really say that it was normal temp...i do remember feeling it really cold against my back as soon as it started to sputter and when i pulled it out it was starting to ice up a little Edited by CM_Regan - 10 January 2009 at 1:11am |

Judge was asking what the outside temperature is. CO2 relies on heat to expand and it it is cold outside, it takes longer for it to expand. If it is 30deg outside and you are just firing off shot after shot, you are going to get freeze up which will cause the sputtering you are talking about. If you live in a cold climate look into buying HPA.
