Hi,

I am just getting inot apintball and opted for a A5-RT instead of electronic.  I have a few general questions

- do I have t strip and relube thegun after every outing?

-I can hear a small leak coming form the barrell sometimes- sometime not- is thie normal?

I picked tippmann to keep myself and my son free from on the field repairs

I personally disassemble and clean all of my gear after playing. Viewpoints differ on this, but the better you maintain your marker, the longer it will last and the less problems in the long run. With that said Tippmanns are very tough and require little maintenance.

Thanks- is it true then to totally strip it after every use?- If so, is there a recommended O ring or component replacement as preventative maintenance?

I personally strip and clean mine every time I play, but again it's up to the user. You don't have to, but it doesnt hurt. About the only time I may not take it fully apart is if it was a short day or I know I didnt take any gun hits or I am going to play the next day etc.

Most retailers sell an A-5 "small parts kit" that includes all of the o-rings. However, you do not need to replace them every time you clean the marker. Check them for wear and if you see any visible nicks replace them. It is also good to have one or two around in case you break an o-ring during play.

well. barrels come with different threads. probably  yours do not have the threads to fit an a5.
did you use your barrel with a different gun before?

yes you can but if it is a 20" barrel i recomend going down a bit and buying a new 12" barrel.  20" is excessive and hurts performance instead of helping it.
