Hey, I just received a used Tippmann 98 custom with ACT.  I cocked it by hand with no CO2/HPA and fired a few times with nothing loaded in.  After doing so I noticed a small rubber ring kinda floating/dangling inside the bolt section of the marker (sry noob here, don't known what I'm talking about).  I did not notice this being there before firing the gun.  I stuck a finger in there and pushed it against the side and it seemed to stay fairly well, but when I cocked/fired it again, it fell off and is not dangling by the spring inside the bolt section of the gun.  Is this particularly bad?  Will it affect the performance of my gun?  If so, where is the rubber ring supposed to go, and how can I put it back?  All help is appreciated, thank you!

Hey, I found a pic that kinda shows what happened (this is of someones elses gun, not mine)  http://img21.photobucket.com/albums/v62/Maximilien/98c_fully_assembled.jpg  There is a ring in the back, and while I have not taken mine apart, I believe it is this ring that has been loosened in my gun.

Ok, I did some more researching and found out that what is loose is the buffer O-ring  (seen here  http://playpaintball.com.ua/load/98cmanual.pdf)  Should this me attached somewhere, or is it just floating in there to prevent damage when firing?

It just hangs around the spring.

And yes, it is just there to prevent damage to the back of the bolt or the end cap/stock.

lol yea it's supposed to be like that.  It's just kinda acting as padding as whenever the hammer flies back the o-ring will straighten out anyway.
