Hello all, my friends and I play woodsball out in the desert and teams can't typically see each other at the start of the game.
I am trying to find a reasonably priced walkie set that my friends and I can use with a headset  in our masks so that we can easily start games and also so that in game we can use them for team communication.
Does anyone know of a set up that works well in paintball?

FRS sets work well. Try and get one that comes with a headset, since a LOT of them uses proprietary stuff.

I would suggest looking for something that you can get a throat mic for and remote PTT(push to talk).  Having the little mic hanging from your mask or fumbling for it is a pain in the butt.

Don't know if you guys in US get Zartek radios but my team uses it and it works well. It is light and small with a rubberized finish. It has a PTT and VOX function and you get lekker extras for it. We use the Zartek Pro8 series.

I bought a set of cheap midlands not very long after starting the thread. I don't have  throat mic yet because all we use them for is to start games. They work well so far. I've had a couple of times where there was too much distance/obstructions to use them effectively.
Hopefully some of my friends will pick up some because I'm definitely not going to buy another 6 walkies so that most of us will have them.
