I need to know which paintball gun to buy. Its for my dad who is an experienced paintball player. He has had many different guns, but he always complains about how complex they are(autococker, now maxtrix)

so what i am asking is what is the best tippmann weapon, the fastest rate of fire, and the most firepower with out to many switches. The best would if there was a good gun with just a safety like the 98 custom. I have never seen a a-5 or x-7 closely so maybe one of these would have it. please let me know.

once the response trigger is installed, does it require batteries or anything? any on off switches?

i'd say that the a5 is the marker to go with. fast, durable, simple, and reliable. plus it's inexpensive and has an endless possibility of mods. get one with the respense trigger and cyclone feed for the ultimate power without having to go electric.
All stock Tippmann C3

Extreme Rage Gravity Hopper
Coleman 16.4 oz. propane tank

oh and no the repsonse trigger doesn't use batteries. it uses co2. pick up the latest issue of action pursuit games magazine to see a great article on the gun.

1) Paintball marker =/= weapon. It is a piece of sports equipment, in effect a tool. It should never be used as a weapon. Calling it a weapon has a negative implication, do not reference paintball equipment as weapons.

2) Your dad sounds like a cry baby. If he thinks Matrixes are too complex, just about any gun is too complex.

3) He would be better served keeping the matrix and just learning how to maintain the marker.

4) The R/T trigger does not require batteries, while the e-grip does need batteries. There are less expenseve, lighter,  and just as effective markers that you should consider over a Tippmann marker. Buy the marker because its reliable, and cost effective. You should never make purchases based off of name recognition.

i would recommend the A-5 from what i have heard from my friend, he says it s good and reliable. he has the stock marker. i have a 98 what was not a good gun for me. i guess i messed it up but if your looking for a non- complex gun, get an ACI F4 illustrator. very nice gun and simple

<insert facepalm here>
ruffjustice, go to new players forum like mack said and make your own thread.

I would go with a 98, but he may like the fact that the a-5 is just as simple and is easier to maintain. It also comes stock with a cyclone.
