Not really enough to justify a collection, but here are the three markers I currently own - which is pretty much changing all the time. All of these guys have been acquired since the beginning of the year.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() First, the 98 Custom: - Older "push-sear" model - Did all the "milling" (front grip, lettering, velocity lip, filled in warning lettering) - Automotive paint (primed, painted, and clear-coated. Really need to be re-done, some is peeling etc. due to me not bothering to fill in screw/nut holes - lesson learned) - Dye grips, sealed bolt system, polished internals (including hammer, trigger pins, the whole deal), macro, CP .689 one piece barrel, WGP drop forward Anyways, this thing is my backup and workhorse. My first marker was a 98, and I like having one back in the stable. Its set up nicely to be used whenever I need it or just want to use it. Depending how things go, I would like to eventually throw a Palmers Stabilizer on it, but its just fine for the time being. I use HPA anyhow. Other than that, I'll be keeping this one mech and it won't be changing much at all in the future. Second, the dust silver Evil Pimp: This one came to me completely broken, and I restored and repaired the entire thing. Fixed all the leaks, stripped screws, missing screws. got a newer ram and bolt, and got the whole thing set up and working once more. It rips, but I really just don't care for it all that much. I'll probably be getting rid of it very soon. Third, the gloss black Angel IR3 C+C: This one is my most recent purchase. I just finished tearing it down, cleaning it and setting it up. I'll be keeping this one for some time, but may get rid of it down the road. It shoots beautifully and works great, all for less than $160 said and done ![]() |

I had the same silver pimp kit, was a great marker until the Det reg broke up
and went through it. At one time W.A.S. was selling pimp boards for $19.00 |

I wanted a PIMP kit once. But then I heard they were just a load of problems so I gave up on that dream and picked myself up an Evil Minion instead.

The Pimp is nice, I just find the IR3 to be smoother, more consistent and more reliable. The Pimp was never meant to compete with things like the Matrices and whatnot of the time. However, I think it does say something for the Angel that the IR3, which predates the Pimp by some years, is in my opinion the better of the two. If you look around, you can still find WAS boards for cheep. Most agree that the WAS showed no improvement over stock, and in some cases was actually a downgrade. The computer link feature was cool, but thats about it.
Good call. At least the Minion is completely (I believe?) interchangeable with the PM, and was established off of the already popular platform. The Pimp shares a good amount with the Impulse and earlier Timmies. The Impulse was never really a standout platform, so things were kind of doomed from the start. I'm unimpressed with the Pimp. I wouldn't get an Angel without one if I had a straight up choice between 45 and 90 ![]() Its all user preference. |

Nice little collection you have there. I want to build one up so bad, but I don't play enough to justify it.

Pumpker'd; (V.) When a pump player runs up and shoots you at point blank range because you thought 20bps made you good.

I'm always buying and selling. I've had many markers, but they're always being moved about. Still haven't owned anything near your amount though. And the IR3 was something I purchased from Badluckcharm on Angel Owner's. Got it for $114 after shipping, all it needed was a battery that could hold a charge and an ASA / macro set up. I like it a lot. Not much different performance-wise than my A4 Fly I had. God, I wish I never sold that... Also bought an older J&J Edge barrel kit for the IR3, got it for $20 or $30. Old Angel stuff goes cheap, and they're still great markers. Edited by Yomillio - 22 July 2009 at 6:08pm |

90 frames are the most comfortable ive ever used, i still think my g7 shoots better and looks better than alot of new guns twice the price.
Its still the only gun ive used that NEVER once needed to be maintained, never leaked, never gave me any problems. as for difference, i found the g7 to be leagues above the ir3, I had an ir3 and wasn't very pleased with the performance Edited by DzXs - 22 July 2009 at 7:49pm |

For a gun just under 10 years ago, I think the IR3 is great. It really can't be all that different from the newer Angels. If anything, I'd just be less efficient and have more kick. The biggest difference in the Angel platforms are that as time goes on, their reciprocating mass decreases. That, and they created more volume for air within the bodies. You brought up another thing I love about Angels. Their so easy to set up, and are near impossible to screw up unless the user really messes something up. They're easily some of the most reliable EP's I've ever used. Also, once I get rid of the Pimp and some other stuff, I think I'm gonna go for either a 5peed or a G7. Not sure. |

the g7 compare to he ir3 was more efficient, less kick, MUCH quieter much more reliable at faster rof's considering i shoot 20+bps on a regular basis and never chopped in 20+case.
Even craftsmanship is still much above newer markers, theres no slop in the trigger at all, its butter smooth, you can adjust it however you want whenever with just your fingers with the wheels. I shot a dm9, g3, RX and an angel 1 at my field and honestly they didnt shoot as well or just felt like they were made crappily. Edited by DzXs - 23 July 2009 at 4:31pm |
