I have an old tippman model 98. (nothing on the gun says custom)... anyways, awhile back ago, my marker started to act up. For some reason, it doesn't want to act like a semi-auto. I have to keep re-cocking the marker instead of just doing it once. However, sometimes, it will act fine and shoot around 10 balls, before it seems to shoot about 4 at once, and then I have to keep re-cocking it.

I took the gun apart a few times and cleaned and oiled everything. Just what am I doing wrong? I tried messing with the velocity screw to see if that was doign something, and nothing..

I need any advice!

Thanks!!

hi, something like that happened to me while i was playing, i asked the guys at the field, and at the paintball shop, they told me that i was shooting to fast ( i don't have e-trigger nor response and i use CO2) but yes 'drops of liquid CO2 where getting out of the bolt of my gun' before the gun started to do the same thing that  yours.... so how fast are you shooting?

have you got the same droplets of CO2? (if yes check the o rings)

i try to shoot slower now, but i know that there has to be something else there.

i forgot: i'm not sure if the guys wanted me to buy a e-trigger and  a air tank

I don't shoot that fast at all. I just cleaned the gun again tonight and oiled everything. When I checked to see if it was working, when it did work as a semi, I was maybe shooting two balls a second?

I don't really have drops of co2 at the end of the barrel, just that it shoots out of the barrel. Also, if this helps, sometimes it gives me a kick of air out of the slot where you cock the gun at...

Check the o-ring on the rear bolt for damage/wear.

And check the sear and rear bolt edges for wear.
