Why would you want to? It would comepletely kill the look.

Take a look at the apex barrel. It is better than the flatline and could actually look good on an m-16 milsim.

I'm not an Apex fan but the Apex is generally much more mil-sim friendly (appearance wise) than the Flatline.

Ditto.  I just can't get my Apex to peform as well as my Flatline irregardless of tip and velocity settings.

you can allways change the barrel with another one, and use the ak parts to go on the other barrel, but i thought the 98 threads were the same as the alpha?

Why would you want to put an AK -47 barrel on an AB? That would be like putting a BMW front end on a Merc. The AB is stylized after an M4/M-16.

Because some people think it'll look cool, which it might.

If you can manage to find a AK-47 mag that will fit in the AB mag slot, then you could easily turn your AB m16 into a AK-47. All that would be left to do would be to remove the Site rail, unless you like the look of the AK with a site rail. Either way I might just give this a try. The AK-47 is one of my all time favorite weapons to shoot at the local shooting range.

I've been thinking about trying that. I'm pretty sure that the barrel's from the 98 work with the Alpha Black, so other than looks i dont see why not, I'm just not sure as to whether or not the alpha has enough power to make the flatline work properly

The power issue, if there even is one, can be easily remedied with an after-market main spring.

the 98c threads are the same as the alpha. I put my buddies flatline quickthread platinum on my alpha, and it performed like i thought it would. but its just plain ugly. the shroud that comes with the 98c flatline does not match the alpha tac. but to answer your question, 98 threads are the same.

I hae a 98C and and alpha black. My 98C flatline plat quickthread will fit onto my alpha, and performance is great compared to the standard barrel. However, it looks terrible. So far, I have been able to find only one shroud for the flatline platinum. As stated before, the apex will give you more performance (at 150+ft) than the flatline, and any shroud will work. I have seen some amazing alphas with the apex and different shrouds. I like the apex over the flatline. But in the end, its a matter of personal preference, for what you like and what and how often you play. I only play senario, so I'm really picky about my upgrades.
