Halo campaign?  I'll pass.

Halo is only used for playing online.  And then its only an average shooter.

I played it yesterday in fire fight mode with a friend, it was rough as hell.  Definitely fun.

I have a hard time recommending ODST. After three variations of the same rinse and repeat gameplay I think it's time for a radical change. What Bungie did here was throw silencers onto recycled weapons, bring back the gameplay from Halo 1, and throw in some film noir music.

As an expansion pack ODST is great, and superior in all ways to the Halo campaign, but as a 60 dollar full game it's just not worth it. I feel like the Halo guys are good at spit polishing an inferior product to the point we think were playing something revolutionary (see also: Gears of War).

Halo 3 multiplayer is good, but the campaign has always been underdeveloped and over rated.

Not quite. Obviously yes it is similar for the most part, but they did a decent job from the sounds of it. You play as ODST instead of master chief, and as a result you are slower, more vulnerable, and cannot jump as high. Yeah they added two silenced weapons because you are more of a specops type team. They also added a new hud that outlines friendlies in one colour, enemies in another, and objects in another. Also the construction of the storyline progress is an interesting idea, playing through flashbacks.
That said, yes its halo and fanboys will give it more credit than it deserves, and vice versa.

Don't get me wrong, ODST isn't by any means bad, it's just not worth 60 bucks in my opinion.

Here's hoping Modern Warfare 2 comes out as amazing as it looks.

Hardly any game is worth $60. Console games especially are robbery, which is why I buy around one game a year or so. I'm now seeing some for $69.99, which is $84 after tax (CDN)

And yeah I'm WAY more excited for MW2 than ODST, but I'd still play either. Can anyone fill me in on ODST online? Does it exist? Is it the same as previous ones pretty much?

MW2 will be no better than the first. A sense of invicibility with totally lame AI. Played MW and most shooters, and been in real bullet trading contests , no comparison. Just find the Sci-Fy realm more comforting that the supersoldier MW series.

I am actually enjoying Red Orchestra and Darkest Hour playing against real people online. It is fun fighting amatuers. The "hey diddle diddle charge down the middle" of the majority of the players makes flanking an plinkin them off a breeze. Put me in a tank with a good driver that listens and does what he is told and we can go the whole hour without getting hit.

Also a fan of Aces High II, I am more of a bomber jock, love low level strike missions, and again the human players get too wrapped up to watch for a big ole four engined Lancaster down low dodging hills and trees, climbing, releasing, and diving to the deck to scoot home. Or rolling in with a Typhoon strafing a tank that thinks no one noticed hime in the trees. 4x 20mm and rockets make short work of tanks, trucks, anti-aircraft positions, trains, bridges, you name it.
I am not fast enough for air to air anymore.

Die in a fire. There is little to no AI in COD4. If you sit and actually watch what is going on, it's what I've always said it is: "Whack-A-Mole" with guns.

The multiplayer, on the otherhand, is pretty good.

I never even finished a CoD campaign lol...it's all mp for me. And really CoD doesn't advertise itself as a war simulation so much as an arcade shooter, which it excels at.

The only online in ODST are the coop modes, the standard and then the firefight, basically one of those wave after wave of enemy game types.

The highlight for me was getting the 3 new H3 maps for standard MP

MWF is the best multiplayer shooter I have ever played.

Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos.
