Not bad, where'd you snag the PSO-1 and mounting rail from? Also, what did you use for the receiver cover?
Also, does the illuminated reticle in the PSO-1 still work? Or is the battery terminal fried? Also, what real gun did you destroy to get the gas transfer tube from? Please tell me you didn't demolish something like my baby here: ![]() |

To respond to your questions Tallen, this is not a PSO-1, but a POSP 4x24M with a SVD mounting mechanism, and yes the red reticle works beautiful at night, the scope works beautifully. I chose SVD over the AK mechanism to make it much real for purists like me and others (I would never dare to put a PSO-1 in a paintball marker). Also the mounting rail cost me $10.00 in a gun auction. The receiver cover was made from a metal sheet and cuted to fit the A-5 receiver, then I paintedI destroyed the real parts of the venerable SVD Dragunov to fit my marker. I won a bid of all the parts in an auction at Gunbroker.
Believe me or not, the gas tranfer tube is part of the TACAMO AK-47 barrel, and the muzzle was made from a 5" PVC Schedule 40 tube.
I like your PSL ROMAK. But the parts of your rifle would never fit with the look of my marker. Besides for pundits like me, the PSL ROMAK is not really a SVD Dragunov but a Romanian made Kalashnikov based rifle (ROmanian Avtomat Kalashnikova ROMAK) you can pick it up for $800 in a gun shop. The original SVD sells for up to $15,000.00 Edited by seabees - 18 September 2009 at 10:21am |

Oh, trust me, I know that the PSL-54C is no real dragunov, I was just wondering if you had destroyed a $800 gun to put the parts on a $200 marker
![]() Besides, if I had the 15k to blow on a SVD, I'd probably spend it on something a little more... shall we say... automatic? |

Well, I based my mod on the SVD Dragunov modern version, this version is made of polymer and is wildly used in the Russian Army, the clasic version (wood hand guards and stock) is used in other armies and I was not interested on.
I also made an AK-74 modern version as well, I will post it in the future

Unfortunately I don't have a video just yet. Here are some pros and cons of this marker: PROS: It shoots very accurately, there were no balls flying out of the normal path. I didn't brake any paint balls during the whole game, the bi-pod helps a lot when you are conceal waiting for the enemy. It produces a terrorizing effect on the opposite team when they see this monster. Also the noise level of this marker is very low (I prefer a louder marker). And finally, It is sturdy, I dropped a couple of times and I also used it as a shield every time we had to go through a thick brush. CONS: it is 43" long, not good in close quarters, hard to acquire a target with the scope and goggles, it wights 8 lbs. (This was not an issue for me, but for a weak player it is) MYTHS: This marker doesn't expend more or less air (I set up to the maximum speed the paintball field allows, 280f/s). It doesn't shoot any further than any other marker either. EQUIPMENT: Tippmann A-5 with a 20" J&J Ceramic barrel, and Blazer paint balls DAY CONDITIONS: Warmer, cloudy (75F) Edited by seabees - 24 September 2009 at 12:34pm |

i hear ya with the length maybe getting a little shorter of a barrel or finding a way to make the back of the gun a little shorter. idk as far as the scope thing what do u mean.

There will always be PROS and CONS, if I eliminate all the CONS, most likely I will end up with a marker that definitely will not resemble an SVD Dragunov It is hard to look through any scope or binoculars wearing paintball goggles, this also applies to my SVD with this scope |

To expand on this observation for newer players: The stock Tippmann velocity adjuster restricts air flow as opposed to altering the amount of air released from the valve. This means that every shot releases the same amount of air no matter what barrel length is used or the velocity is set for. Thus, you can make quite a few alterations and see no change in air efficiency. |
