Simple camo patterns like Tiger Stripe can be done pretty easily with some tape and spray paint. There are more expensive options, but really, it's all done for looks. Having or not having your marker camo'd isn't really going to make much of a difference.

Also, if you look at the top of the forum, there is a complete thread about custom painting your marker. Check it out.

I've painted two and as Oldpbnoob said, it's for looks.  It MIGHT help every now and then, but I'd say those times are the exception, not the rule.

you can camo your gun quick and cheap.just go down to walmart and buy some camo burlap.then use either some kind of string or I used hot glue to atach it to the marker.it only costs about $10 for a big sheet.and works extremely good.it looks like this.

this is a pic of me holding it.

Camo works really well in the right conditions. Knowing ow to use it is really the trick.

Players learn in the woods really fast what to look for on a player that gives away their location. A hopper is one, and a lens is another, 75% of the time your gun will be pointing at someone, so camoing much more than the barrel really isn't needed.

Hiding yourself is something you should work on before hiding your gun.

Don't spend any money. There is no reason to buy a kit, a camo wrap, or paint. (god forbid)

If you feel you need to camo you gun just put some camo duct tape on it.

So this camo tape you speak of is free?

I would just try to hid your hopper! If you paint your gun it will only look good for about the first 2 times you use it and then it will start to look like crap! But the camo duck tape is a great idea. just putting strips of duct tape on the gun or hopper would be just fine. When you play at your local field just check out what some of the other guys do!!

I've never bothered to camo any part of my marker or hopper. I can see the draw of it, but for all intents and purposes, you can get by just as easily without doing it at all.

My general thought is that if someone is close enough to me to pick out the shape or color of my marker, then they're close enough for me to shoot.

I think it helps, but then, i'm an aggressive player with a completely home spun ghillie suit.

As stated above, players learn what to look for, and your hopper and mask are the first things that stick out.

I have played for almost 10 years now, and it wasn't until the last two that i bothered camo'ing my gun, or even wearing any camo.  I now have 4 guns that have a paint job on them.  (and contrary to above, it does not wear off after to days, my current primary (painted last spring) will still be good probly through this next fall)

If you want to see what i've painted, just search my posts.  There have been many others on here that have painted their guns for cheap (just get wally world camo spray paint). Browse Marker gallery as well.

But keep in mind, that unless your doing it for looks, you'll need to do something with your mask and hopper as well, it really is just a slippery slope that keeps going if your not careful.

Camo Tape sucks, it'll make your marker look like a Class Project That Went Wrong.

Painting, too costly and messy.

That said, Camo Wrap is your best bet

I tried that stuff a few years ago. It isn't the best either but is probably better than having tape residue on your gun. Camo tape may also take off paint. The problem with camo wrap is that you have to wrap it around your gun because it only sticks to itself which results in you using a lot of it.
I suggested camo tape because it is not only easy to put on and take off but also has practical uses. It is just duct tape even though it looks different.

I just recently went to my first paintball gathering and when I was there I saw alot of people taking spray paint to their paintball guns and that is just something I am unwilling to do on something I pay good money for. After looking around for some type of cloth wrap I found Camo Form that works great. Here is what mine looks like.

What I really find great about this stuff is it does quiet down the gun some but not much. You can take this stuff off then reapply it as you like. It is not permanent and does not leave any kind of residue. It only sticks to itself. Plus it improves grip and adds some padding.

This was done with two rolls at about a total cost of $25.

This is the camo wrap we were referring to above.
