i recently got my own gun and i was wondering if i should upgrade to a flatline barrel and if there are any other things u recommend. my gun is an alpha black tactical its compatible with all 98 parts except for triggers cause i would have to grind off the trigger guard. thank you for your suggestions.

Use the search feature and you will find hundreds of threads regarding the Flatline. In short, it adds distance, but at the expense of accuracy.

Have you actually used your 98 is several games?

And yes, most of the Accessories for the ABT can be used on the 98, since both are basically the same marker, in other words...the ABT is a 98 Custom with a MilSim Body.

Calm down, buddy. If what evil_fingers said was true, then so must the opposite. Most 98C accessories will work on the ABT. And he brings up a good point: Have you used it for a few games yet? Don't upgrade for the sake of upgrading. Play a few rounds with it and see what you don't like. THEN change it up to meet your requirements.

If you already knew that, then why bother asking what is compatible?

And like I said...have you actually used it in several games, because you will never know what is needed if the marker has not been used, also its going to be your money (not ours) that is going to be used to get those upgrades.

ok ok im sorry for being rash

yes i have played games with it the main problem is that at the local field the area i like to play in is HUGE my paint dont even reach 1/4 across it so i need to know how to increase my range without sacrificing alot of accuracy and maybe gain some to. and yes i know theres 20 million variables for accuracy

The only barrels that affect range are the Flatline and the Apex. All other barrels will not affect distance, regardless of length. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. A ball traveling at 280 FPS will go the same distance as any other ball traveling the same speed, out of any barrel. The best way to cover the field is practice movement. Moving is very important. If you stay in one spot in hopes of longballing, or "sniping," you are only putting yourself at risk.

As for accuracy, length also doesn't matter. The accuracy gains are null past around 12"-14" anyway. I myself prefer around 12". It used to be that a quality barrel kit would increase accuracy, but all the modern barrels are very well made, so the only thing kits affect are efficiency. Accuracy will all be generally about the same, so pick a barrel you like. I'd suggest a J&J Ceramic for its self-cleaning capabilities and cheap price.

The Flatline Barrel can only be used with the 98, A5, X7 and the Phenom.

The Apex can be used with any Marker, given that the Barrel is an Apex Ready Barrel.

Get the flatline, it slows the ball down a little but it will shot a ball straight without any drop for about 100 ft and will slowly go down.  But it will get it done on any course or in the woods.
