Snowpocalypse-2: Electric Bugaloo

Erin and I walked into Target to grab a new clothes hamper and some dessert-type-thing and in just the 10 minutes that we were inside, the roads went from 'fine but wet' to 'Covered with 1/8" of snow.' It's coming down hard and fast and I think we're going to get the 20" that they've been saying is possible. At this rate, the front walk to my apartment building is going to look like a trench on Hoth minus the really cool laser turrets.

Well, to give you an idea:

This was taken Saturday Morning around 11AM. That was 8 hours before the snow finally stopped falling last weekend. So about 1/2 of the total accumulation. My wiper blades (visible in pic) were only sticking out 1" from the snow by the time it was all done.

Now, very little of that snow has melted from the ground. Add 20" to what we got and you'll get a nice picture of why DC is shut down right now.

My 5 inches of snow lasted for a few hours yesterday until it began raining, all damn evening. I demand you share some of your snow with the less fortunate.

I hope our snow stays into the weekend. I haven't hit the slopes yet this year. Though i saw a couple snowmobiles head down the road.

I think you should build really cool laser turrets, so your house starts to look like Echo Base.

I used to dig tunnels through the banks that the plows kicked up on the side of the road. When I was a kid, we had winters where they'd be 5' high. I quit after one collapsed on me and my brother had to dig me out.

A long period without oxygen does answer a lot of the questions I've always had about you ;)
