Bought this
.22 air rifle with a nitrogen-filled piston instead of a coil spring. It came with a nice tacti-cool scope, a Centerpoint 3-9X AO scope w/mil-dot reticle and zero-able turrets. If it shoots as well as it looks and handles I may do some sporter-class shooting with it, and I will certainly be trying it at long range. It will be nice to be able to shoot cheaply without bothering my neighbors or worrying about a ricochet. |

More like $320, I still could have bought 2 10/22's for the price, but if it's a shooter I think I'm going to have one gorilla arm from shooting this pig. I just could not bring myself to buy a Spanish or Chinese airgun, and this one has excellent reviews

Not broken in yet and only roughly zeroed, but holding "minute-of-beer-can" accuracy at 50 yards.

Why not buy a small .22 rifle and use shorts? Just curious. Usually those high velocity .22 pellet rifles are just as loud as the real deal. Granted ammo is cheaper for the pellet rifle but the $300 price tag doesn't seem worth it when you can get a youth .22 for about $80.

Because I already have 5 .22's :)
The gas piston keeps this thing quiet, again, it has reduced ricochet potential over even a .22 short(which are more pricey than LR's anyways) I often waste entire afternoons drinking beer on my porch and shooting at stuff with the BB guns and chinese air gun (that things sucks) and this will extend my range considerably. I will not have to worry about a pass through shot on a squirrel or crow that wakes me up early in the morning either. EDIT: 1st pest eliminated, starling OSOK from about 40 yards, god I love the mil-dot for quick reference for range, wind, lead etc. Edited by rednekk98 - 12 March 2010 at 12:39pm |
