Getting packed up, wheels up in AM. Have to pick up son in law from Wisconsin at a truck stop in Des Moines, they are getting my Mom's old 4x4 SUV. Plus need a hand at distance driving anymore.
Both Bassets are coming along, need the motivation and company to keep me busy in NY, trailer loaded up ready to go, just getting ready to pack up PC. Packed up all my Civil War gear for event in May, and to shoot the black powder weapons at range or on property. Mental Health eval next week (just in case operation goes bad and I lose use of legs, messing with the spine has risks). And the initial implant 20Apr and 7 days later final implant of perminant device if all goes well. Per Doctor still can not work, implant system is too prone to electronic interference (cell phones, microwave ovens, high voltage electrical systems, etc) but we will evauluate the substitute teacher thing if implant does what it's supposed to do. Planning on finishing degree starting in July either at SUNY Oneonta, or back in Nebraska at SCC then UNL. It is that mission accomplishment thing, I have to finish. So back on the road again, truck stop food, ahhhhh memories. |

In NY, and here in Oneonta the mood is not good. Jobs are hard to find, real estate is not moving, and the price of fuel oil is astronomical. $950 owed for winter delivery of fuel oil, average will be @$400 per month, termostat is now at 50 and the wood stove is going.
Did all the legal beagle stuff yesterday, lawyer to close estate late this week/early next. Son to be son in law west bound in my Mom's old Hyundia Santa-Fe. Gave it a quick physical, changed the oil, saluted it and sent him on his way. All the paperwork to settle an estate is mind boggling, and everyone wants thier bite of the estate. NY and Nebraska want taxes, the Feds made my Social Security income for last year taxable based on my 'income' from the estate, owed Feds $15,000, NY $9575, NE $8450. House wintered well, a few repairs still needed, Harley started right off and this weekend to be high 70's, cruising the hills, and heading south to visit daughter. Apr 20 is surgury so enjoy the rides while I can, and hope all works out after surgury. |

Good to hear you keeping active. You want to work? Perhaps you can get minority status and get free everything.
