Best advice I can give, (and mind you) I'm still pretty new myself, is communicate with your partner.  If you have an idea of how the other team plays (whther they stick together or split up) use that to your advantage.

Mal: What I got? She has a name.
Jayne: So does this! I call her Vera!

The other team usually goes as far away from each other as possible, so they can get a the other team easy because then its hard to hide from them there spread out so far that they can get you pretty good

Back when I was in your shoes playing with small groups of friends, there really is no awesome plan to win small games like that. Find a good place to defend, and do not camp out where they will never find you. Have fun, and find bigger games.

Play aggressive. Youll have more fun. I usually wear bright clothes and just keep running when im in the woods because I get bored and distracted easily. Generally I can put down more paint and act faster than others with my F8, so their first shot better be good.

not trying to sound stupid here but i would suggest a way to communicate with your partner. you can't just scream and give your position away, maybe a walkie talkie?  or maybe if you want to feel cool, get the thing the soldiers use in Iraq, the thing that goes into your ear. LOL
