I am having trouble taking the Rear Bolt out...ill get the rear bolt plug, but after that point Im not sure how to get the actual bolt out.
in addition, what are the MOST important areas to oil up? 1. Front Bolt O-Ring 2. Receiver O-Ring 3. Rear Bolt O-Ring 4. ASA O-Ring am i missing any?

It should just come out the back after pulling the end cap off. Try lightly tapping in on something to get it moving. Sometime oil and gunk can combine to make things sticky and tough to remove. If all else fails, just disassemble the whole marker. It really isn't that complicated. |

i realized that i did not screw the velocity screw in past the receiver so that the drive assembly would pop out
does this mean that i turn it all the way clock-wise or counter-clockwise? in addition, when re-assembling everything; do you turn the velocity screw all the way back counter-clockwise to reset it to 300FPS?

There is no way to properly set the FPs without a chrono. There is no magical number of turns that will deliver exactly <300fps.

Tighten it to turn it past the receiver, but I usually just take mine out. Remember - lefty loosy, righty tighty.
And this is kind of funny, because I tend to do this every single time I strip my A5 down. Oh, and it may help to loosen the receiver bolts as well. |

i should also state a new problem that has come up..
i reassembled all the internals, threw on a co2, and shot it a few times: 1. 25% of the time, a paintball did not come out. i know its not a co2 issue because i could hear the noise of the co2 booming out each shot. could this be a cyclone feed problem? all i did was remove it from the gun. did not take it apart or anything.

Check the fitting that goes into the side of the marker. If it is loose or the o-ring is damaged or missing you can lose enough pressure that the Cyclone won't cycle properly.

I ran a test with my backup custom 98 pro to see if it was my Co2 tank (which is 5 years old! not refilled either) was causing the issue. It shot all the paintballs 100%, no blanks. I read that the cyclone is the first to go with insufficient Co2. But is it really that insufficient if my backup 98 can run perfectly fine on old Co2 tanks? Thanks for the help..!

Yes. On an unmodified A5 the marker can still shoot at a normal velocity without the cyclone working when the tank is near empty. Edited addition: Also, if you weren't chronoing, you may have been shooting at a lower velocity on the 98 and A5 without realizing it. Edited by Mack - 11 June 2010 at 8:04pm |
