Hey kids,
Im running a flatline on my A-5, and I just want to know what peoples preferences are when it comes to their A-5? And I want to know what has the best distance/accuracy for the A-5. I love the flatline, but Im looking to upgrade after seeing a mates J&J (WOW). so yeah any opinions or advice would be helpful.
Bit about my game style (or lack thereof)
I play a lot of bushball and scenario games where that bit of punch and accuracy could really come in handy, I like simplicity (hence the A-5), and I have been known to spray some paint at times so barrel breaks arent common, but they do happen when Im spraying with speed haha.
 Thanks for reading!!

Pretty much any barrel (with the exception of the backspin barrels and the one that works with the First Strike rounds) is going to get the same distance.  J&J and Lapco Bigshots are the barrels most commonly recommended here.

I run both on both 98s and A5's.

In my opinion (note I said opinion) I think the J&Js have a slight advantage in accuracy and sound deadening (from the report) while the Lapcos are a bit more forgiving with less than perfect paint.  Everyone knows J&Js "self-clean" but my experience with the Lapcos is that they do it almost as well as the J&Js.  Really, the two brands are close enough in performance that they are essentially equal.

It should also be noted that the "self-cleaning" properties of both barrels refer to the usage of paint with normal fills and the longer versions of these barrels do not clean out as well as the shorter versions.

Are you going with an Edge kit or a regular ceramic?

I use a J&J Ceramic Barrel, i have 20" and 16"   going to buy a 14" also.      16" seems to work better in the tippman 98's   but the 20" works better in the salvo.

Bob swagger, I have no idea just yet. You see nobody in Australia stocks or sells the lapcos or J&Js, so before I go ahead Im trying to find out the best possible. barrel length doesnt bother me, I mean it can be 4 inch, or it can be 54 inch, as long as its on my gat, Ill be able to use it and get used to it! I mean Ive seen the ceramics and I love what they are doing!! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT haha but I honestly have very little clue as to how they are in real life, variety and such. Hence the reason Im getting some real life opinions instead of the usual web site "we make the best barrels in the world, everything else is terrible compared to ours" biased stuff.
Thanks to everyone so far for contributing

Most people on here will recommend a barrel length of between 12 and 14 inches.

I just bought two J J 14 inch for my A5 and project salvo. Haven't got them yet. But they recommend the 14 inch to me so I got 14. Is a longer 16 or 20 any better , does it chop paint because there. Longer?
