red dots are pretty much all the smae
1) do not get one with a lens less than 30mm, or you cant see anything
2) you will need a rail, the a-5 has small dovetail rails, almost all scopes have 20mm rails, you will need an adapter
3) you will also need a riser so you can see trought the red dot with the mask on

i have a red dot for the X-7 and is it very helpfil, it sits atop a scope mount base on an m16 handle

I have a core red dot on my a-5. And other than target shooting... I never use it. Probably 3 times in about 200 games.

but, it looks cool...

Just like anything else, practice is the key, shoot a lot of paint, find what works, and learn to snap shoot. This weekend I started towards the flag with another guy and out of the corner of my eye I saw movement, and snap fired at the movement...

The guy fired at me at the same time, and we were both eliminated.

If I had taken time to look through a sight. I would have been the only one out...
They tremble at my name...
