does a non ported barrel give you better distance? Ive heard once the air behind the ball hits the ports the ball will stop accelerating is this true?

Ported/non-ported . . . it doesn't matter range-wise. Any ball that leaves any barrel at 280 fps will go just as far as any ball leaving any other normal (non backspin) barrel at 280 fps.

thanks for the info I love my jj barrel but my buddy has a blitz with an evil barrel and is giving me a hard time cause his range is alot better than mine and everone else ill invest in a chrono cause he has to be shooting hot with that kind of range. We actually had a guy quit playing saturday cause he was tired of getting shot my the blitz

YES! GET A CHRONO...
It is dangerous to play without chrongraphing the guns first. I find at least one marker at over 350 every time we have a big game.
And then get an Apex. You will then shoot longer than anyone using a regular barrel.

yea I talked to him today about getting all the guns chronoed he agreed with the idea. I know im not shooting as hot as he is but the other week after 4 of by ball bounced off of one guy I turned mine up a little. Id put $ im not over 300 but am ivesting in a chrono to at least be on a level safe playing field.
