Carver One Review Thread

Box came today, I couldn't get into it fast enough.

A couple of things jumped out at me as soon as I started to handle the thing and look it over.

1. Every marker that Tippmann has produced since I've started playing has boasted being 'rugged and durable' They have been too, but right off the bat, this thing just FEELS so solid. Its not heavy nor cumbersome, but does it ever have the general feeling of being indestructible. I feel like I could put it the hands of the most accident prone beginner, and have it come back in complete working order.

2. Its reminiscence of the old carbine line brings me great joy. Until recently, my primary marker had been a 68 carbine, despite owning more updated markers. The carbine like feel of this is something that I cannot say enough good things about.

3. The simplicity. Tippmann aimed at the beginner level for this marker, and hit the bulls eye. There's nothing fancy about it, the simplicity of design seems to be paying homage to the old 98. No fills, no whistles, all business. Anyone can pick it up and play with it.

4. The new elbow system. the screw bolt that holds the new elbow in might be the most complicated thing about this marker- but its not a bad thing. While I never had a problem at all with the old elbow system on the 98/AB line, Its nice to see a new spin on an old classic. Any wobble that one might have had with the old system is completely gone. Its quite nearly as solid fit as the built in elbow on the SL-68 II, yet since its still removable access to the chamber in case of a break is still feasible. Love the new design. It won't be as easy to clean in the field, since it takes just a bit longer to unscrew the bolt before removal, but I like it a lot.

5. Its so aesthetically pleasing too. Its got great lines, there's nothing awkward or clumsy about the receivers either.

6. The integrated sights I'm not too wild about since most players either don't use them at all or will add their own in the form of a sighting system or raised rail, but They're not gawky enough to be an issue.

7. Rails....enough to be useful, yet not so many as to give the marker the milsim feel of the X7 or Project Salvo.

The familiar simplicity of this one makes it a huge winner in my book.

I immediately bolted on the stock from my Alpha Black Tactical, and love the way it looks and feels in my hands. A barrel that is a touch longer would be nice, though not altogether necessary. I tried a 14" J&J on it, but its too thin a barrel and too long for it to even look nice. I don't know how much of a fan I am of the thickness of the 98 threaded barrels lately, (AB, Salvo, Carver) it makes using one's existing after market barrels tough since they are so thin they wiggle loosely around inside the shrouds.

They really need to come out with a Beretta Storm stock for this marker.

I know what I want it to look like soon.

he's talking about the Apex stock barrel, the one it comes with sucks, he's not talking about the stock barrel, but usually with a tippmann you have to change the barrel anyways, but thats just how i feel 

I may have fixed my Carver One.  If I turn the hose at the joint between the braid and the thread just right, it stops leaking.  I still think that this is a design flaw.  I thought the hose was rigid all the way from one threaded end to the other.  I was wrong.

Hey all, I am happy to see such good reviews about the Carver One. I will also recommend it to everyone. I have been using it for sometime but never got any issues like the leaks reported. I have also heard about this leak when I got it. But I have never faced any such leak issue. I have never ever faced any difficulties in handling with this marker and playing has been much smoother.    

    The Stock Barrel is like the new Tippmann Stock Barrels they are Ported and Finished unlike the old model 98 Barrels. I also used an Apex Barrel for a later game with a Friend who has yet to develop that Move In Close and Eliminate your Opponent instinct. The CARVER ONE's Rails are Molded thick and Perhaps the Strongest Attachment points I ever seen on a Paintball Gun. I also added the Stock from my Sierra One another Marker that I am really fond of.

i have the same problem. what tools do you need to fix this?
