I've got to get a gun this summer. I'm thinking a .303 British.

Do you think the RCMP will allow me to apply for a Possession and Acquisition License (with proper gun safety course first) with my short history of depression?

Looking at a Lee Enfield No.4?

I really like the No. 4, but haven't been able to get my hands on one yet for a reasonable price. The MKIII though is an awesome rifle. Got one for $200 a few years back when a guy was selling off a collection.

GAH. I don't know! Every time I go to the range, something happens that keeps me from shooting. From friends taking too long doing what they're doing, to them closing early. I'm about to go to my grandparents' place an hour away just to see if the gun shoots at all, much less with hollowpoints! :'(

I never understood why Canada had such strict gun laws compared to the United States. If anything, people who live in the boondocks of Manitoba need guns more than people in suburban America.

I mean, depending on where you live in the US, an adult with a valid license and money can buy any long gun at any point. You're telling me Johnny Canuck from backwoods Manitoba has to get a permit before he can drive an hour into a small town and buy a shotgun?

Yeah, my dad owned one once a long time ago and now my cousin owns it. I'm kinda looking to buy it back.

Had one of the Argentinian copies and it sucked, but it wasn't a real Browning. Get rid of the magazine disconnect if it has one.

Yes, it does have the disconnect, and it does give it a very stiff pull for a single action. It's on the list of potential upgrades. Going to the range tomorrow to see how she handles.
