I have a Gen3 Model 23.  All of our work weapons are Gen4 22s.

The Gen 4's have been reportedly having some issues, but they do work.

I wouldn't mind getting on the G19 Gen 4 wagon as well.

Oh and PICS or shens.!

the thing i like most about the g4 is the mag release. in older glocks i had a heck of a time with dropping the mags.

How is that an issue?  Around here the police carry Glock 22s, but I got a police trade in.

I like the feel of G17's, but just like many said before, safties are a necessity.

IMO, the only way I would want to carry a Glock is if it were in a serpa or if there was not one in the pipe. So, if I randomly decide to become an LEO I wouldn't mind carrying one on duty.

The trigger pull on the Glock is long enough that you really don't need the safety.  The trigger has 3 built in.  Honestly though, I would kind of like to have a Beretta 92 as far as full sized pistols go.

You rike safeties? The glock has 3 safeties

If you ever think of carrying without one in the chamber look at some of the statistics on shootings, especially police involved shootings which most happen at a distance of 7 yds or less and last on average 3 seconds.  Not carrying the weapon like it was meant to is the wrong mindset, train train train.

I live in New Jersey, I will never carry.

I think it was USAF that mentioned that his dads coworker had shot himself accidentally with his Glock. The cord from the windbreaker he was wearing wrapped around his trigger "safety" and discharged some 9mm into his leg.

Hence why I said that if I were an LEO open carrying on duty, I would like a serpa holster. That Glock wont fire unless I fire it, or gremlins decide to hammer on my primer.

Plus, I am a 1911 enthusiast, and they have four safeties.

I've carried a Glock 27 for a number of years now. I use an inside the pants holster (manufactured by Uncle Mikes if I remember correctly). The holster is designed so the whole trigger guard is covered to prevent accidental discharges. If you want to throw it in your pocket I would definitely recommend something different (Keltec or Ruger LCP possibly), but if you want to use a holster the Glock will hold up fine.
Face it guys, common sense is a form of wealth and we're surrounded by poverty.-Strato

Serpa's are more dangerous than most other holsters out there.

Something that requires you to apply pressure to the trigger area of the holster as you draw the weapon = fail IMHO. Look up Tex Grebner on you tube :)

That isn't the only self inflicted gunshot they have produced, just the funniest.

You might need to pay a little more attention to a Glock when you are reholstering it but not that much.

PS I see what you did there :)

I perfer a handgun without a manual safety. I have a beretta 96 and hate it. I know its a good firearm but the safety on the slide and the sloppy trigger kill it for me.

A 1911 style frame safety is not as bad as my normal grip will disengage it. But slide safeties like the beretta, my p22 and mosquito are a pain.

I want to know when I pill the trigger its gonna go bang and if it doesn't I don't want to have to think about what it might be. I know training will help with that but its still one more thing I would need to worry about it when I'm already having a bad day...
