I want to find a short about 3 inch barrel I can attatch to my project salvo (after removing the shroud) to use it in urban scenario games for room clearing and such
Where can I find these barrels? |

For room clearing with the Salvo you are better off folding the stock. Short barrel have horrible groupings as you go out. The Salvo's stock 10 inch barrel is plenty short for clearing bunkers and rooms. And long enough for decent groupings at normal range. Remember always practical before tactical as real steel physics don't always translate to paintball.
I use a TPX for clearing rooms and structures. Look into those if your doing more Urban Scenarios. |

To tack on to Evil Elvis' sage advice, 3" doesn't give you enough length to get your round up to speed. Remember, that's compressed CO2 or Air pushing the paintball down the barrel, and it requires time and space for the pressure to work properly to get the ball up to speed. A 3" barrel may fire a paintball, but not nearly as fast (velocity wise) as a 10" barrel.

Hi ArcAngel, Bad idea imho. As another poster suggested, it would serve you better to fold or remove the stock then go with 3" barrel. I upgraded to a 14" J & J barrel. |

It takes about 2 inches for the burst of gas to stabilize the paintballs velocity and power but 9 inches for accuracy
Thanks for all your suggestings but does no one know where I can get a snub barrel? |

![]() You might try this. It's an Allen Paintball Products Barrel Adapter / Extension. It was designed to let you put Spyder threaded barrels on your 98 threaded gun. So the tip of it has internal spyder threads but if you're okay with that then it'd do what you want. It's about 4 inches long. You could try regular barrel adapters but then you're down to about 1.5 inches or so. My only other thought would be some backs from 2 piece barrels. Just don't put the tip on them. You could use a Lapco Snap Shot back or Evil Pipe kit. Really any of them would work if you're okay with the internally threaded tip on them. Evil Pipe Barrel Back ![]() All of us have different ways to play the game. Try new things to make sure the game is fun for you. Having fun playing paintball is why we're all here. |

Whatever you end up with make sure to get back on here and let us know how it turned out. I've heard all sorts of numbers about what lengths are required for this or that but it's always nice to get some real world performance experience. Let us know!

That RAP 4 barrel is interesting. It looks like it's got big ports almost all the way down to the threads. Do you think it would even work? There might be just 1-2 inches of actual barrel there. I've never tried one of them.

Close, but no cigar. It take 2 inches for the gas to cause the paintball to fire any significant distance, however the velocity is affected all the way up to 8 inches. This is why LAPCO puts all their porting just below the barrel crown, and virtually every other aftermarket barrel doesn't port until after 8" |

Honestly, a lot of guys have been known to just hack a stock Tippmann barrel off to the proper length and then polish it down for a crown. Usually a lot cheaper. |

Can't argue with that. Especially if you've already upgraded your barrel and aren't using your stock one. Might as well use what you've got.
