I just got an a5 a few days ago and the guy told me he didnt have a long enough tool to get the bolt out of the handle. What size of alan key do i need? Is it just the normal 3/16? Or is it a torque bit?

You may have to get a longer one with a T handle at the top.  I used a 4" long allen key from my work set.

Are you talking about a 2010-2011 A5 or the older style A5?

Hmm, im not sure I'd assume its a bit older i got it second hand. And its weird theres no threads on it it looks like i can only fit a flatline barrel on it. The guy said he bought it with the barrel so i donno if its like some sort of flatline series or something lol

Yeah, and by the look of the threads in my gun, it doesnt look like another kind of barrel would fit on.

Flatline has a different barrel mount.  If you are looking to use another barrel, part #02-69 barrel adapter is what you will need. What are you trying to do with your A5 other than tear it down to it's nuts and bolts?

You don't need to go that far to oil it up. I have no clue how old it is just yet.  Is the finger tang at the front of the A5 part of the two receiver shells or is it made of plastic?

02-69 Tippmann BARREL ADAPTER
That's the 02-69 Tippmann A5 barrel adapter.  The back of it (bottom of the picture) has the same mounting method as your Flatline barrel adapter 02-98.  So just take your old one out and put in one like this and you'll be able to add any Tippmann A5 Threaded barrel.

On a newer style Tippmann A5 Paintball Gun with the selector switch safety
I don't have a push button safety A5 here to look at right this second but I believe it's a 3/16" wrench too.  You might need a slightly longer armed wrench though.   Hope that helps.
Tippmann's also got this handy dandy multi tool now that would do the trick.

You mean at the very front of the gun below the barrel? Its part of the two halves, which i assume are the reciever shells.

How do i oil the inside components without taking the two halves apart? Confused

The newer A5 has a black rubber coated air line and a switch that goes up or down for the safety on the left hand side if barrel facing away from you. Not sure how the older one's safety was done but it has a silver looking air feed hose. from what I've seen anywho. But if it's been modded then I guess that can change :p
