Well, I am back from my first deployment. I was only out for half of the ships full deployment, but I still got to hit a few ports including Rome.

Having a bit of trouble adjusting to back home though. Happens I have heard. Anywho, looking forward to maybe getting back to paintball with a Tiberius Arms 8.1t.

Anyone have any questions about shipboard life?

Doesn't look like I have missed much on this forum lol.

Welcome back!  What type of ship do you serve on?

Cool!  My father served on the USS Willard Keith (DD-775) in peacetime.  My buddy served on the USS Arleigh Burke (DDG-51) during the first Gulf War.

Obviously cliched, but thanks for your service man.

My buddy is still in school in the Navy, he loves it.

You planning on career life?

Most everyone I know in the military joins, plans a career, then abruptly gets tired of it and leaves

Hey Monk, glad to hear your first deployment went well...any progress on your ESWS?

I'm still onboard USS ESSEX, got 5 months left. TRUXTON just got commissioned right? How is it to be on a new-ish ship?

HA! Thanks all.

Newish ship is pretty nice, but things still break all the time. And there is the issue with a bunch of hard-chargers which makes it harder to stand out amongst the pack.

I don't think I will be a lifer, the navy is set up like a corporation now, and the shear amount of retards I have to deal with on a daily basis, I might as well get a real job and be able to see my family year round.

Ill get my Journeymans and finish my degree and Ill be happy.

As for U-boats? Nope, but I did get to interact with foreign navies, so that was cool. And I chilled off the coast of Yemen, we were all a little nervous.
