Hello Forum Users!!!,
I am new to the paintball scene and really enjoy it, so I ended up getting a Carver One for Christmas. With that being said, I wanted to find out what would be some recommended upgrades?

I ran some test fires of my marker to see how it shot and handled, I have already thought about the e-trigger upgrade, its a bit pricey, but it may help, but I have heard that it can short out if its wet outside.

My marker came with a CO2 tank, but I will be switching that out for HPA and I would like to get a remote line for it, suggestions on both?

For the barrel, I think I am happy with the barrel that came with the marker, its very sturdy, looks aggresive, and seems to shoot nicely, if I were to upgrade, any suggestions? (I know it has the same threading as the 98C, but that's still a very wide range of possible barrels).

Are there any bolt upgrades that you would recommend?

Are there any feed elbow upgrades?

I am also looking at trying to get a new hopper, I currently have the gravity fed cheapo, but this can wait unless I do upgrade to the e-trigger.

Thank you all for your help, I used the search function and only saw 3 posts here in the upgrade section that even mentioned the Carver One :-)

So, here is a pic of my current Carver One Setup (Which isn't far from stock).

The stock is a 98C CAR stock, I had to sand down the end that goes into the marker for it to fit (it's a nice snug fit, but took some time getting it to work). I also de-badged it, I didn't like how it looked with the Carver One and US Army badges on it.

I thought I had a spare sight laying around, but couldn't find it.

It looks good, consider a better barrel, J&J, Lapco with an Apex tip ( Apex first generation works better but uglier IMO). One last item to think over is going to HPA (High Pressure Air).

Thanks for the reply Ceesman, I actually purchased a Ninja Paintball HPA tank the other day and a trinity coiled remote line with quick disconnect :-)

As far as barrels, I will look into those, the idea of curving shots on purpose with the apex barrel intrigues me :-)

Save yourself the trouble, the trick shots are BS.  Use the barrel/tip to get your best range and accuracy at a set FPS (280 FPS works great with my APEX generation 1)

You could get a hopper with a groove in the bottom of it, they are better than the regular gravity feeds because the balls cant bunch up at the neck as easy. Tacamo makes them and so doesnt Draxxus. You can get them for less than a $10 bill.

Ah, thank you for sharing that info Ceesman, I was wondering if it actually curved the balls or not and I will look into a different hopper.

Speaking of hoppers, I know everyone says you can't put a cyclone feed on a carver one, however there is already a power tube port on the right side of the receiver, I guess the remaining problem is attaching the feeder to your marker, since the carver has a thumb type screw where as the 98C's have a spring loaded dohickey.

Awesome, I am still curious about the cyclone feeder though, I would love to try and mod the one for the 98C to fit on my carver :-D That could be fun.

You might just be able to modify the tabs off your regular feedback onto your Carver.

Hmmm, modding the 98c cyclone to fit the carver one would be interesting! xD Maybe look it up on google and see if anybody has tried it. Also as ceesman said upgrade barrel... I have the Apex 2 for my 98c and its alot better than the stock barrel it came with. I dont use the side shots and stuff because it seems stupid to me. I just like the way it looks and its pretty accurate. Good luck with upgrading your Carver! :)

Hey I was just wondering how the apex 2 was workin for you. I just picked one up for my 98 cusom pro and I was really excited cause of all the reviews saying it was amazing but when I took it out and test shot it in no wind it was complete crap. I've used a flatline and this thing wasn't even close utill I pushed the setting up to about 7 or 8. It says it supposed to be like a flatline from 3-6 but absolutely nothing happens and it has almost no consistancy or accuracy, it curves right, left, up, down with almost no predictability and I was using pretty good painballs. I was just wondering if anyone had any feedback or knew why it's doing this, it might be deffective but I took it apart and it looks fine. Any help is appreciated.

Yes, you would simply buy one that has the E-grip.
