I have a chance to buy a PT Extreme for $20. Is that a good deal? I know they have lots of leaking issues but it seems that 20 bucks is too god to pass up. Thoughts?????

Don't do it. Had one. It had the following issues:
And those are just the ones I can remember from quite a few years ago when the pistol was new. |

We had issues with them straight out of the box at DD when I was teching there. Bad CO2 seals, bad cup valves, ill fitting feed tubes, the list just goes on and on. It'd be a $20 paper weight most likely. |

As dumb as paintball pistols are, I always secretely wanted one of the Zeus G2s. I thought it would be hilarious to have one to goof off with.
Plus, you could get them in gold. Edited by usafpilot07 - 05 March 2012 at 9:37am |

I play paintball with a teen that uses two USPs on occasion. He, my niece (using a 98C with R/T) and I (with original SL 68 II) took on 4 teens (all with at least semis) a while back. I got two and surrendered one before being eliminated and he did a Quigley down under move to get the last one. He gave me at two of my eliminations by getting the full attention of our opponents by doing John Woo-style strafing runs on them. |

Stuff like that would be my main motivation for wanting a pistol. I've had some of the most fun playing with my 98c and a 45rnd hopper, or my SL-68 (both my I and II) with limited paint. It forces you to be smart and take chances to be effective. Switching to an A-5RT with a HPA system later in the day always proved fun. You show up with the pump and leave the heavy in the car when they're picking teams and keep quiet, bring out the big gun after lunch. I do however, suspect I'm not as fleet of foot as I was at 17, when I last played often. Thinking about it, I haven't played since I hit my 20's, so limited paint might hurt me a lot more now. I know my knees make a lot more noise.

I bought a Crosman 3357 just for the sake of using one in RecBall.

I ran a TPX last year for the second half of all the scenarios I played. Durring the first half it was a side arm which I'd switch to when I ran out of paint on my primary. Pistol play is more fun do yourself a favor save up for a TiPX.

^^^ Yeah . . . pistol, or pump, play can be more challenging and fun . . . but you want a decent marker to do it with.
(Hint--the PT is not a decent marker.) |
