For being your 2011-2012 Stanley Cup Champions.

In other news, Steve Bernier has reportedly been admitted into the witness protection program.

It was certainly a rollercoaster season for NJ.

I'm very mellow, at the moment. I am proud to say my team went from missing last years playoffs (for the first time in 15 years or something), then picked up an unwanted coach, then went this far.

I am pretty annoyed that my team lost this way, though. My Facebook is filled with expletives because NJ went from almost being swept, to getting their act together and having a fabulous two games, to having Stever Bernier lose the Stanley Cup for them.

For those of you that didn't watch, there was a dirty/illegal hit from the Kings on a Devils player, so Steve Bernier (on the Devils) decides to board (read: attempt murder) Scuderi of the kings and get a five minute major penalty in the first period. Totally inexcusable and uncalled for, SCF or not. Kings take the oppourtunity to steamroll through NJ, scoring three goals on the penalty.

Extremely dissappointing way to end a great playoff run. I honestly feel that the Devils had a great chance coming into tonight, the Kings were quite shaken up, Quick seems to fold under pressure, and Brodeur was playing his best hockey ever. Still proud of my team, though.

Bernier will be hanging with Jimmy Hoffa shortly, it is Jersey after all.

That lack of a call on the Kings and the resulting boarding major call on the Devils ensured the LA win in the first period. On goal two during the power play you could see Brodours sholders drop as his head swung and saw the puck in the net, he was done emotionally, and the Devils momentum went from slow to none.
The officiating this whole year has been questionable. I am not a Devils nor Kings fan, the games were well played, except when the referees swung the momentum of the games with sided calls both directions.

Can't wait till October for the clash to resume, hopefully the league will take a closer review on many of the 'swing' calls throughout this season and 'fix' the problem.

Confusing sports days for Los Angeles.

Lakers are on the downfall with aging talent.
Yet, the Clippers show the most potential for growth next season. The Dodgers are playing some of the best baseball in the league, and the Kings won the NHL finals.

NJ fans should probably not cling to that Stoll hit...

I get that it's a way to not bash your own players at the end of an emotional loss, but it was a 50/50 at best on that spot of the ice. If you want a scapegoat, I'd just focus on Steve Bernier, and the Zach Parise stand-in.(Detroit couldn't afford to have the real thing hurt in a meaningless game)

It is nice to finally be able to see my lifelong Kings fan buddies finally see their dream realized of seeing their team win the cup.

I would say most of the long-running, 80 game watching Devils fans are the ones blaming Bernier for his stupidity, and most of the casual fans are the ones blaming the referees.

I think the most disappointing thing of all is I know NJ is 10x better than that. I would have liked to see them play the whole game, rather than die in the beginning due to a bad hit.

If anyone other than Bernier is not in Jersey next season, I will be very disappointed. I even like the backup goalie, who can't root for a Swedish guy whose nickname is Moose?

There will be at least one more name missing on that roster next year.

Hush, you.

Edit: You should have hoped NJ would have won... perhaps start another decade of NJ/Colorado/Detriot winning the cup eight of nine times.

I am glad to see the Kings win. Scuderi is a great d-man, glad to see him celebrate the cup again.
