I was wondering what are the best barrels for the Phenom ? I had a freak kit and paint broke in the barrel every few shots. I returned that and bought a flasc barrel kit, same results. Now I put money into the techt iFit and wow ! Same problem ! Is it that barrel kits do not work on this gun ? Or is it just me ?

Sounds like your detent is broken or is installed in reverse. Both of these  could cause ball breakage. Your barrel purchases have been excellent choices and all of them should have given you excellent results. Check your detent and install a new one just in case you have a sharp edge somewhere..

I do know the ball detent is installed properly, but I didn't think to check for sharp edges. I also read to trim the back of the detent to reduce the resistance. I have an extra, I will trim it and install a new one just in case. Hell it can't hurt.

It could also be a problem with your paint choice or a weather-related issue.
