Barrel Choice

I know next to nothing about the pros and cons of getting a longer barrel
I have  a Tippmann Alpha Black and want to mold it into a sniper. My question to you is should i get a 22' barrel or a 16'.
Do barrels improve anything  like accuracy or how far it travels. All help is greatly appreciated 

Trying to get accuracy at a far distance.

Also, maximum you should go on barrel length is 14" anything after that, and you're wasting air to get the ball to chrono at speed. More distance means one of two things, either a flatline (picky with paint, and ungainly) or the Apex barrel. Remember, the ball travels farther, but ultimately has less kinetic energy. If you're already getting bounces at the end of the arc with a regular barrel, you're going to get even more at the end of the arc on a "distance adding" barrel.

I am looking to upgrade my barrel. I have a Project Salvo and i was wondering the limitations of brands that would fit. I don't want the flatline because that will replace my shroud which i like. I was looking at the dye carbon fiber boomstick but that is quite expensive and i have also heard that other barrels dont fit very well into the salvo. There appears to be complaints about the barrel being loose. One guy solved it with another upgrade and another solved it with some paper towel which he spray painted black. Just wondering if you guys had any experience with the cf boomstick on the salvo or if its a waste of time and i should look for something cheaper and start spraying some paper towel...
