I am relatively new to paintball(and really these forums), and I had just got my first gun, the a5. Today, I shot it for the first time. but without a crono, i don't know if I need to turn up my velocity, or if the the a5's balls just drop a lot. I know that Its not my paintballs, but could you guys help me out?

Yes we can . . . buy a chrono. (Or go someplace that has one.)

A chrono is an essential safety tool of any paintball player. If you don't know anyone that has one, handheld ones can be found under $100. It would be in your best interest (as well as the people you play with) to get one.
