ok, so my local fields here in northern CA dont fill nitro (sucks) so im going for compressed air for my 98c. i think i wont install the comp air low pressure kit and just buy a tank to screw in. is this a good idea? can some1 plz recommend some compressed air tanks for me and link them if u can plz? also, is a 68/4500 compressed air tank about the same length as a 20 oz? do u guys recommend a drop foward? i am a front player in airball/speedball. |

Nitro and compressed are are almost the same, but not quite. The big difference is that when you fill with nitro, you have very consistent usage because its 100% nitro. When you fill with compressed air its technically a little less consistent because there are a bunch of other gasses floating around the planet with the nitro, O2, CO & CO2 that are the most common (and that all go into your tank & your lungs). You will do fine with CA & an LP kit if you decide you want one, but you will also do fine with just the CA until you actually get it. Definately get the CA first. FYI - CA & nitro are filled into the same tanks. |

ok, they say they only fill "compressed air". so if i bought like a crossfire 68/4500 (850 psi output) tank (labled as a nitro tank), and got it filled by "compressed air", would it work fine? |

Hpa and nitro are not quite the same thing, but you will not realy be able to tell the difference in performance. Your marker won't care either. A crossfire tank will hold either just fine.

They call it nitro because compressed air, or regular air for that matter is more than 70% nitrogen. I've never seen a place, or don't see the point, to fill pure nitrogen.
Oh and crossfire makes some nice inexpensive tanks. I have the psycho ballistics bullet dropfoward with the on/off and all, i do love it so. Edited by PaintMonkey |

The 98 will work fine with a compressed air tank but without the lph it is kind of an air hog, but as long as its free air fills this is no big deal.

Not sure what the exact difference is, or the difference that it would make on a paintball marker, but compressed Nitro will spin an air tool (like an impact wrench) about twice as fast as compressed air. That is why in professional motorsports the pit crews run nitrogen to their impact wrenches when doing tire changes.
