As some people may remember i posted how to disengage your sear to turn into an auto and was flamed for it. Now could some one explain to me why it doesn't work. I know it does work with Co2 i tried it myself. When paint goes in though it chops like crazy. Now would a fast hopper work? Or low presure? Or is it since it fires sso sparaticly that it can not be controlled. Can some one explain this to me?

There isn't a hopper that could keep up with it.

Plus, it would be hard to control.

Yes there is. With all stock internals the max speed the bolt will travel is around 20 bps. Throw a Halo B with the fancy board or a Q on there and it will feed.

But its just a pretty doofy idea. So what do you do when you want to shoot semi?

Easy you drill a hole in where you put the object you want to use to block the sear. Simple.

Exactly, stupid.

There are far better ways to get high cycle rates out of your Tippmann.

Wow here we go.  There is a hopper that can keep up but only for short bursts.  The tippmann cycles ways faster than 20 cycles per minute closers too 33 or so.  Let me give you some advice.  Shoot down is going to be so bad that the paintballs wont fly that far after a while.  Your going to go thru sears and rear bolts like there is no tomorrow.  I can shoot just north of 20 and go thru them like crazy.  Its a good idea but it just isn't worth much.  Even if you got a hopper that keeped up and got rid of shoot down, do you really want to waste that many paintballs.  While your busy hosing paint wouldn't it just suck to be taken out by a single paintball and you just wasted 200 for nothing.  Another thing.  you would need a really big hopper. 200 rounds at my pace goes fast.  Real fast.  Tippmanns aren't not made to fire that fast.  They aren't really made to fire 20  seeing as how I go thur sears and rear bolts so fast.  Just get a RT.  Your marker will last longer.  You will be shooting slower but your marker will last a little longer.

I think you are very wrong about cycling stock internals at 33 cycles per second.

Moving a mass like that back bolt takes a lot of energy, and to move at 33 cycles per second means that the bolt is moving forward and backward in 0.0303 seconds. Yes that is 3 one hundreths of a second. That means it takes 0.015 seconds to make the bolt move forward only at 33cps. That is ridiculously fast for a heavy rear bolt like the Tippmanns. The rear bolt would be traveling approximately 14 miles per hour accelerating from zero in just under 2 inches. Thats a little out of the question I think.

*EDIT

Hah ha, that is too funny that Evil calls me in just as I am doing my calculations. GO ME!

A big problem besides ball feeding is valve timing. The valve needs to be held open for a certain amount of time to release enough air to propel a paintball with any real velocity. Valve timing is regulated primarily by hammer weight and spring tension. A gun with a disconnected sear is a "runaway" gun. Without the sear to regulate the cycle, the hammer is likely to "float" at either limit of it's travel, causing erratic release of gas, inconsistent pressure, and poor accuracy. Not to mention possible damage to all components involved.
