    Posted: 03 August 2004 at 11:35pm
Hello, I' know this might be newbish, but I'm about to buy a palmer setup and am wondering if I'm purchasing all the necessary things... Here's what I got in the cart so far:

1/8" NPT - 90' (1/4" hose)
1/4" Macro Line
1/8" NPT (1/4" hose)
1/4" Teflon Tape
0-900psi Stabilizer Female w/1200psi Gauge
Ring Mount
ASA to Hose Adaptor
Lapco Universal Mount for A-5

Just wondering if I'm leaving anything out that I need... My tank will screw right into the Stabilizer, correct? This is for an A-5 obviously.

I would, I don't have enough money though. Would there be any reason to wait two more weeks so I can afford a male stabilizer though? I honestly don't know the difference between a male and a female other than the male doubling as an expansion chamber. Having a drop forward is no big issue with me, I'm going remote soon anyway. The drop forward is what I don't have the extra $25-50 for.

The difference is how they're set up. The male screws right into the tombstone adapter. The female takes place of the ASA adapter (I think...).

Okay... well I've decided to wait on the E-grip for now and get a male palmer setup, new barrel, upgraded internals instead. And I'm quite confused about what I need to look for in a drop forward... I know I need a universal adapter to mount regular drops to the A-5, but that's about all I know. I'm rather confused about the whole dovetail thing.

So here's my current planned setup:

Male stabilizer
NPT fittings and macro line
Universal mount

I don't know what I need to buy for a drop,  I do however know what I want. Something really small like a micro drop that only drops the tank 3/8" and a good on/off ASA. Any suggestions?

Or maybe I should just go with the female and an expansion chamber? I'm getting confused now.........

If you go remote, then you can get an In-Line Palmer. Same thing as Male/Female, cept it goes directly onto your remote with no fittings. $54! that's it Unless you want the stabilizer on the front for a reason, then get it. SOOOO much cheaper!

What about a dual setup? Female or male on the gun and an inline on the remote? I'm still wondering about the drop forwards though.

Why do you want 2? One is good enough (i supose that is what you are talking about). Two Palmers=overkill

Well okay... I don't need two. I guess once again my main question is what do I need to look for for drops? Are all drops the standard dovetail thing on the bottom for an ASA?
