OK today i was playing paintball with my friends and one of them decided to try and impress us by saying " Did you know if a piece of white paper is in a pitch black room the color changes to black" he said because of something about absorbing light and reflecting makes it black as long as theres no light. everyone dissagreed with him but does anyone know about this?

Color can only be seen with light. The way the object reflects the light gives it it's distinctive color |

With no light, there is no color.
I don't think you can really say something is black just because there is no color though... It just means it's really dark. |

yep it would be black... Colors are just reflections of light.. no light, no reflection, no color = black.

Although the pigment in the paper that reflects the light still exists. So technically it's the same color, you just can't see it.
