Ok, please don't flame me here, im still relatively new to paint ball (played 7 or 8 times now), i have a few questions about my malfunctioning 04 gladiator reg. it seems to be pretty inconsistent, somedays it will be + or - 3fps, but most days, its more like + or - 30fps... or even more. i've cleaned the thing thoroughly and used dow 33 for the lub, as well as oiling for a tight seal, yet i still can't get any consistentcy with it. specs of my gun are in my sig, i'm really at a loss here, so any help would be great. the only thing i can think of is that i have a lpk, but i have no idea what preasure i'm at (gladiator cant have a gauge) and i might be high? so if anybody knows how far the adjustment screw should come out (to around 350 psi), that would be great. i hear 04 gladiators are extremely sensitive to adjustment so i'm wondering if that could be the problem. Thanks guys! i know one of you has the answer im lookin for! |

How often do you clean the reg? And how new is your reg?
There is always a break in period for the spring and the piston to get worked in. And after a rebuild there will be another bit of break in due to the excess lube getting moved around. |

i clean my reg after every day of full use. i've used it for 5 full days of paintball (bout 6 hours a day), not including the days where i just play with my gun in the backyard for tweaking purposes (as well as shooting my roomates when they miss the toilet, lol). so ur telling me everytime i take the reg a part it has to be brokin in again? if thats the case, i'm going to have to get a new reg, because if i don't clean it and lube it after every full day, the thing starts leaking out the side of it (that gas release hole). any other ideas?

That doesn't sound good at all. You shouldn't have to clean your reg that often. I know people that have never cleaned their regs through the whole life of their gun. I don't recomend that either, but still, you are having to clean it too much.

heh, thats what i figured, but i checked the seat, the o-rings and everything. nothing is damaged. i then thought maybe the reg wasn't a good reg, but after researchin online forever, everybody says its one of the best out there.... ahhhhh ... so now i figure its just user error, maybe its not the reg and its how the setup is with my gun and the lpk. if anybody even knows which way to turn the adjustment screw to lower the preasure, that would help me test. (counter clockwise is to incease velocity, while clock wise is to decrease, but heck.... which way is to lower preasure, and which is to go higher???)

Call up Macdev or pbkindom there was a bad batch of o-rings/retainers in the glad
recently that causes them to blow. My other suggestion is too take it over a chrono and adjust
is until you get a good reading and leave every thing there. Your only
suppost to relube it ever 10,000 shots. You also may have over lubed it wipe all the lube off and put a tiny amount on it.

well.. when i first got it, it was all good, played with it 2 full days, then the next time i used it, it started leakin like crazy, so i had to clean it and lube it all the time so it wouldnt leak. but the consistency of the thing was never there. i've tried emaily mac dev, but they never responded. what great customer service ...
