I don't think this has been posted before so I'll go ahead and post. Some of you may know that Green Day has a new album coming out called American Idiot in about 2 weeks. What are your opinions on it? IMO Green Day is one of the greatest punk bands and some say the new album is going to be really good. I think its supposed to be some sort of Punk Opera or something... What do ya think?

Nah, not really a fan. More into bands like Nirvana, Metallica,
Soundgarden, A Perfect Circle, Radiohed, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin,
Deftones, and Foo Fighters. :)

Green Day became pretty popular around the time I was in high school, so they're a part of that whole musical period I'll always associate with. Their new stuff is ok, but I'll always like the songs from Dookie.

Not by a long shot. I'll never put Green Day in the same catagory as the Misfits, Bad Relegion, Rancid, Pennywise, the Vandals or even the Clash. But their new album is supposed to be their best. |

I'll give it a once over, see if its worth buying. I'm doing more back-collecting than new CD buying these days. And buying much more "no-name" stuff than MTV fed monsters.

Green day is a great band. At the store I work at with my step dad
(Used, books, music, video, and games) I always make him put in Green day
at least once a day.

ya, i dont know when the cd coems out, but u can hear the title track, American Idiot, on the radio or in Madden 2005. I like their old stuff better, but its still a good song. Oh yah, im surprised that no one brought this up yet. Their new song is quite controversial because it is unpatrioitc. I dont think so, but that is just one of the opinions going around

I would have to see the lyrics written out before I passed judgement on the song/album. Metallica and Ozzy rule!

Although they're the epitome of pop punk bands, I still rock out to Dookie.
