Topic: A-5, E-Grip, and HPA...Posted: 12 September 2004 at 9:18pm |

I got a brand new A-5 last week, I've tested it out a few times, and I'm ready to look at customizing. What am I looking at? The E-Grip, nice firepower upgrade, especially when the people I play with are using stock 98Cs (no joke). I was wondering if an 8-stage Expansion Chamber would protect against velocity spikes reasonably well, because I'm wouldn't be going full auto all the time, I like money, and I don't want to spend it all on paint. But the shock factor of a few well placed 3-round bursts right next to someone's head should make them hesitate to move to that other bunker. Lastly, even if I don't need it after all, what does it cost to hook and A-5 up with HPA that isn't a piece of junk? You know, think of a not too expensive, not cheap brand.
Thanks, Cod. |

You can get an aluminum hpa tank starting at about $70 or so. You don't need a $200 hpa tank for a Tippmann. Fiber wrapped tanks are much lighter that metal tanks, and can be found used for fairly cheap. You'll find that your gun works much better on hpa, especially if you like to shoot fast. |

If you get the E-grip, get a JCS adjastable dual trigger with it. I use an A-5 with an E-grip and I have the JCS trigger for it, my trigger pull is about a millimeter and about 5 ounces. If you stick with CO2 an x-chamber would be a good idea, if your going to HPA you can get a 48/3000 steel Pure Energy tank for around 100. I have a Crossfire 68/3000 that I got for 150, but I haven't tested it yet.

to anwser your questions. 1. E-Grip is great firepower up 2. A 8-Stage X Chamber would be the best you could get and yes it would help spikes. 3. HPA is great on any gun, it's better for any gun, and you will notice that when u clean your a-5 and see no black crap all in it like you would with c02. btw- that black stuff is liquid c02 |
