This might sound like a total noob question, but i was wonder what is a better gun to buy. A tippman 98 or a procarbine. I have heard good things about both. My friend would bow down to his carbine, but my other friend is obsessed with his 98. COuld somebody please get me on the write path.

I'm a huge fan of the carbine line since I picked up a 68 carbine, and I've seen some friends of mine do wonders with the procarbines. However, the 98c is a great marker since there's a few more upgrades you can do to it and keep it as you move onward and upwards in your play style. It boils down to this "It doesn't matter, they're both great markers." If it were me though, knowing what I do about both of them, I'd choose the carbine. |

I would choose the 98. The 98 has more upgrades, and it can still compete in speedball. And the carbine i shot had a really long and hard trigger pull.

^ only 3. E-bolt, Flatline, R/T... Yippy Skippy... I think it varies how many upgrades you want to do... if you only wanna have maybe 3, the Pro/Carbine would be a better choice but if your ganna have like 12 or more it would be better to have the 98c. |

Pros Very reliable Cons The trigger pull is very heavy (9lbs) and the only way to fix that is to get SL68II trigger springs. This will lighten the trigger pull from 9lbs to 3 lbs (The same as an M98 custom) Due to its design it makes the Pro-Carb more expensive then the M98 Not as customizable as the M98 or A-5 The Pro-Carb is a great gun but IMO the M98 and A-5 are better. The M98 is cheaper, just as durable and it comes stock with a lighter trigger pull. Instead of the Pro-Carb get the M98. |

Oh my goodness. ^
Anyway, both are great markers. I would choose either. A 98C has the ability to be upgraded more and comes with a softer trigger pull (That is unless you modify it such ss home made or bought such as R/T). While on the other hand if you feel to home modify your carbine, you can put a response trigger on it with a bit of work. |
