hey i am getting really bored of my 98 custom and i dont want to e-bolt it b/c it already ways a ton and i am on a team and i need a faster gun. i am thinking of the texas storm intimidator. would this be a good one b/c i dont want to go over 1000 bucks. if i get that, its 800 so i could get a halo b and a barrel kit. if there any other guns that perform awesome that would suit me well please tell me.

Look into a 2002 Intimidator, or a ECX Intimidator there going really cheap... like 750$ and there top of the line...

Don't listen to this guy.  He gives way too much misinformed information.  The 02 and ECX arent' anywhere near top of the line.  i'd get a Viking if you have the cash.  They're basically tourny ready out of the box, and are one of the best, if not the best gun you can buy.

The '02 and ECX might not be as flashy as the newest versions and maybe a couple bps slower, however they're still incredible markers and for $750, the performance is very tough to beat.

I still use a Classic Intimidator which rocks, and these newer ones (2002 and ECX) are WAY better.

And we should listen to you, someone who thinks Impys are "great" guns. I would listen to Panda before I would listen to you. While those Timmys aren't all fancy milled and doesn't have great LCD screens on them they're still great guns. I don't know about some people but for me I would defintily take a Timmy over Viking.

It utterly destroys anything else in that price range. Except maybe the trix with tadao...

This is my opinion on why a Timmy is better This is a comaprison between an Alais Timmy and a Viking

Same side, dual ball detent = ball detents are pretty much the same
3/8's of a pound lighter than the '03<Alias is lighter
Shorter profile<Alias is probably shorter
Relocated on/off switch= ok an on off switch is basically an on/off  switch
Shorter bolt=just about the same. If the viking stock bolt isn't delrin then I would say the Alias is better
Bodies are milled for eye wiring> Alias is better here. The Alais comes with a good eye system already wired and ready to go
WAS Equalizer Board> I've used the WAS on my Impy and the Frenzy board is defintily better 
Double grip with Blade trigger Persoanlly I think the stock Alias Timmy trigger is better 
AKA low-rise<Alias has a no rise adjsutable stock neck

So in that comaprison the Alais is definitly better then the viking. IMO the Viking is all Hype.

All the older style Intimidators are now on sale.

Here's a quick breakdown:

Lasoya - $900
Species - $959
Dragons - $949
Storm - $800
ECX - $750
2002 - $750

Every one of them will shoot faster than anyone should ever need to. I still clear the field with my Classic Intimidator which is capped at 14bps and my slow fingers can only achieve 9 or 10bps.

The Viking is nice, but I still prefer the Intimidators.
