Im just starting out.  Lookin at the Autococker Trilogy Pro and the Tippmann A-5, i figure if i get serious about the sport i'll just buy a new gun.  Which gun would be better for a beginner?  I know autocockers can be hard to maintain, time, etc...  However I can get it timed at my local shop for $15 and I'd like to learn how to work with the gun.  My only problem with the A-5 is that it would be very costly to upgrade it and the frame is pretty spread out.  I've heard a lot of good/bad things about both guns.  Any suggestions?

A5. Trust me. The trilogy i heard was the biggest piece of dung u can buy. An a5 really isnt spread out too much, its nice and compact...except for hte hopper of course lol. In any case go with the A5 because its alot better than the Autococker. Just my opinion!

dont waste your time getting a pump, im not putting pumps down, just dont get one. The only nice pumps are expensive and if you ask me are for more experienced players who just want something new and more challenging. The A5 would be mutch easier for a gun, but I like autocockers much more, probably faster, and more accurate. The only reason i would recomend an A5 before a autococker is if you have no clue of what you are doing in paintball, and because A5's have the cyclone, which is pretty nice.

Getting a pump is a useless thing to do as a beginner. Get an A-5, they're very good (and durable, for that matter) guns for a beginner. The Trilogy series are some of the worst made 'cockers ever, right ahead of System X, and even if I got one for free, I'd melt it down and make bricks out of it.

Thanks, talked to some of my friends at school, etc...  They all recommend the A5 too.  One other question what do ya'll think about the Autococker ProStock (04 VF Autococker), i've been reading a lot of good stuff about it and how it is extremely upgradeable.  The only problem is the price, but i might be able to do somethin bout that.

Anybody know anything about psychoballistics?  It looks like they make a good gun, but the low price scares me.  Are they a good company that makes good markers?

i doubt the trilogy is the "biggest pile". I play with my '02 PUMP cocker and i am sure the trilogy is just as nice. the best thing about cockers is the fact you can switch back and forth between pump/semi. try as many markers as you can and consider your source when "someone" tells you what is "better". by the way i have an a-5 and i dont care what anyone says, the cyclone works.

play with honor and give the cheaters one for me.

Dude my friend has an A-5 and he hasn't had ONE problem with it. My friend just bought an Autococker Trilogy sport and it was chopping balls left and right. I would go with the A-5.

for a first gun, go with somethin simple like a 98c. thats def upgradeable and you'll probably like it. also cheap too. but its your choice.
