Today I whipped up a drop for my friends new ION. Im not totaly for the gun, but I dont think theyre that bad. I wanted to make it a little "custom" rather than just a black band steel drop. So I added the ION logo! I sanded and poished the metal, put on the ION logo, painted over it, and peeled it off leaving a nice silver logo. It looks a bit sloppy now, but it still needs some touchups. I still have to touch it up a little once it dries more, drill the holes, repaint clearcoat and bake it before its totaly finished. Expect to see it on Smart Parts' website within the year... Edited by triggerhappy1 |

I don't like Ions (Nokia cell phones) or drops. But, it's a decent piece of metal.

Whats everyone got against drop-forwards? Sure they may be seen as un-professional or low-end when a uni-mount is very professional, but they help out a lot and do what they say. Thats great material! 1/8 x 5/8 band steel. I got about 20ft of it (4ft strips) in the garage. |

I made my own drop forward also took a piece of solid aluminum 3/4" thick and made a template to trace on the aluminum, cut it out with a sabersaw (didn't want to wait till the next day to take it to work to cut it out) and cleaned the edges up with a file everyone that sees it dosen't believe i made it until they see the homemade rva and milled lettering. hope to have some pics in the gallery in a week or two
