...why don't terrorist come to big games at skirmish and blow people away? or set a bomb off there? they would kill hundreds of people, i guess it's just because they don't think paintball would make much an effect on our economy?

Same question could be raised... why don't they blow up the Baker family reunion? Or the fans at the Smithville Little League game? Or the neighborhood AA meeting place?
Small groups. Not worth the effort just yet. Larger population areas mean they can maximize their attack effects. Plus, who cares about paintball players? And why bother with a group that would be spread out in a wooded area? When it's so much easier and instills more fear to attack something in an urban setting? Cities. Terrorists aren't stupid. They won't waste their time with rural areas. Cities are where you make the most impact. Greater number of people, greater disruption to trade and finance, greater disruption to infrastructure. |

yea, and if they did decide to, it would probably be somethign like the Tampa or Huntington Beach Opens in the NPPL, or some other big event with a couple thousand people there.

Because I don't think they have the resources to take small targets like that. (A) If the terrorists had the money, supplies, and namely men, to be taking out grocery stores and schools, they would. It's not our "excellent" security (which is nonexistent-you could walk into the local elementary with a bomb right now and detonate before anyone could stop you), it's that they have their eyes set on larger targets which leads me to my next point (B) They want targets that'll be all over CNN and Fox for the next six months. They took out the two largest buildings in New York-but they don't care about paintball skirmishes because (C) They want symbols of our way of life to prove their point. Nightclubs, economical symbols, transportation centers, etc. They're not just killing-they're attempting to send a message. I've thought the same thing about every major event I go to-but I think we give them more credit than they have due. They're just not that big-if they were, we'd be on our knees by now. |
