Not on a Tippmann using the stock velocity adjuster. It may use a small amount more, but I mean small. On any gun using a rear velocity adjuster, valve dwell is changed (read: drive spring tension) and reduces or increases the amount of air released.

You don't want to go above 300 fps anyway, or it could potentially be dangerous.
