The Palmer Stabilizer Regulates the input pressure of an air source. Lets say you are running CO2, your input pressure varies for shot to shot due to the liquid CO2 expanding at a high rate.

Your Input Pressures may look like this:

  1. 800
  2. 770
  3. 750
  4. 800
  5. 825
  6. 850

and so on, and so forth. This is called shoot down. Your input pressure changing rapidly like this causes your velocity to be inconsistant, something like +/- 20(not good)

A stabilizer regulates the input pressure, keeping your shot to shot consistancy better. Lets say you set the reg at 800psi, your consistancy may look like this:

  1. 800
  2. 805
  3. 795
  4. 801
  5. 799
  6. 804
  7. 800

As you can see your input pressure is alot smoother, hence your velocity is more consistant. Also the stabilizer allows you to regualte the output pressure going into the marker to the most effiecent operating pressure.

A X Chamber Causes the Liquid CO2(it is stored as a liquid in the tank) to have time to expand into a gas form before it is shot form the marker, causing somewhat the same effect as the Stabilizer. But it is not as reliable.

I would recomend the Stabilizer, because when you switch to HPA, the stabilizer still works, whereas the X Chamber will be worthless to you.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that these numbers are for informational purposes only, and are not meant to be accurate input pressures.
