Me and my friend just got out 98 customs, well my friends somehow got a modle 98. but anyway we were wonding where you should lubricate your gun before you go paintballing for the first time and where to lube after. cause we read the manuel and says nothing of where to before you start paintballing.

It should only need to be cleaned/oiled after play. That's like cleaning your car before doing donuts on the church lawn

If you JUST got them new, then don't oil them. After each time you play, put two drops of oil into the ASA, and shoot the gun with air 30 times. No barrel! After, say, 8 cases, open the gun up and lube the internal o-rings.

Air Source Adaptor- It's what you screw your tank into. There is a small hole in the bottom of it. Put the oil in there.

air source adapter (where you screw the tank onto). Make sure your barrel is off when you fire the gun, or the oil will get all over the inside of your barrel and your accuracy will go to hell.

What I do -
You see that gun oil that came with your marker when you bought it? That's really all you need. Each day, before you gas it up, put 4 or so drops of oil into the ASA, then screw the tank on. Take off the barrel, and take 5-10 shots to cycle the oil through the internals. Really, that's almost all the maintainance you need. Every once in awhile, take the marker apart and wipe off any dirt/grime/paint on the inside. That's how I took care of the 5 or 6 98's I owned, and how I take care of the 20+ rentals at the field. Havn't had problems yet Welcome to the game, and to the forums. If you have any questions at all feel free to post them or PM me |

I put my barrels in the dishwasher. It helps clean the rifling holes.
